Information Collection

Registration:
In order to become a ChannelCrowd member, you must first create an account on this web site. To create an account you are required to provide the following contact information: name, email address, country, ZIP/postal code, a brief summary of your professional background (current occupation & channelcrowd objectives/areas of interest), and choose a password.

Profile Information:
Once a member, you may provide additional information in the Profile section describing your skills, professional experiences, and areas of interest. Providing additional information beyond what is required at registration is entirely optional, but enables you to better identify yourself and find new opportunities in the ChannelCrowd web site.

Information about your Contacts
In order to invite others to connect with you directly in ChannelCrowd, you will enter their names and email addresses. This information will be used by ChannelCrowd to send your invitation including a message that you write. The names and email addresses of people that you invite will be used only to send your invitation and reminders.

All information that you enter or upload about your contacts will be covered by the same terms of this privacy policy as cover your own personally identifiable information.

Cookies & Log Files:
A cookie is a piece of text which is stored by your browser on your computer's hard drive. A session object or session cookie helps us analyse web traffic or lets us know when you visit a particular site.

We use the software of a third party company on our website to collect the data from a session object on our behalf.

We use a session object when you access any ChannelCrowd website to track patterns of behaviour of visitors to our site, to build up marketing profiles and understand browsing patterns.

While our session objects, by necessity, contain some personal information, such as your name, email address, preferences and whether or not you are a customer of ChannelCrowd, they do not contain or store information relating to your financial/credit card details. If you log in as a subscriber and tick the ‘remember me’ box, we use a permanent cookie to store your username and password. This is so that you do not have to re-enter this information each time you return to channelcrowd.com. Due to the communications standards on the Internet, when you visit the ChannelCrowd web site we automatically receive the URL of the site from which you came and the site to which you are going when you leave ChannelCrowd. We also receive the Internet protocol (IP) address of your computer (or the proxy server you use to access the World Wide Web), your computer operating system and type of web browser you are using, as well as the name of your ISP. This information is used to analyze overall trends to help us improve the ChannelCrowd service. The linkage between your IP address and your personally identifiable information is never shared with third-parties without your permission or except when required by law.

Children are not eligible to use our service and we ask that minors (under the age of 18) do not submit any personal information to us or use the service.



Information Use

ChannelCrowd is an online service dedicated to helping all types of professionals more effectively connect with one another. The personally identifiable information you choose to provide on this site is used to help you describe yourself to other users. Other information, that does not personally identify you as an individual, is collected by ChannelCrowd from the site (such as, by way of example, patterns of utilization) and is exclusively owned by ChannelCrowd. This information can be utilized by ChannelCrowd in such manner as ChannelCrowd, in its sole discretion, deems appropriate.

ChannelCrowd Communications:
As a member you will not receive any continual email solicitation from the company, unless you consent to the solicitation at sign up, or through a double opt-in process. And, if you do consent to receive email from the ChannelCrowd, we agree to have a simple unsubscribe option available, along with unsubscribe instructions in every email.

Please be aware that ChannelCrowd reserve the right to send you certain emails related to the proper functioning of your account.

Customized Content:
Information you provide at registration or in your Profile section is also used to customize your experience on the web site. For example, when you login to your account we will display the screen names of new users who have recently joined your network.



Information Sharing

Sharing Information With Third Parties:
ChannelCrowd takes the privacy of our users very seriously. Customer information, whether public or private, will not be sold, exchanged, transferred, or given to any other company for any reason, without your consent, other than for the express purpose of delivering the ChannelCrowd web site services requested. For instance, we use a credit card processing company (WorldPay) to bill users for subscription fees. These third parties do not retain, share, or store any personally identifiable information except to provide these services and are bound by strict confidentiality agreements which limit their use of such information.

For clarity, ChannelCrowd will not be kept on file at all details such as (e.g. credit cards, S.S. Numbers, financials, etc.). Our third part payment processing provider WorldPay may store such details. Details of their policy can be found at:

ChannelCrowd offers a “display business card” feature which allows users to publish portions of their ChannelCrowd profile, including your “name”, and your “email address” to the ChannelCrowd community. Users may not opt-out of this feature, however members will have the opportunity to hide either their company name and or industry (but not both).

We may provide aggregated data about the usage of our services to third-parties for such purposes as we deem, in our sole discretion, to be appropriate. We may segment our users by role (i.e. product managers, vice presidents), industry, geographic location, company. If you would like to be excluded from the aggregated research or products based upon aggregated data about our users’ activities on the site, please email customer service.

Personal information that you choose to provide to another web site will be subject to the privacy policies of that web site. For example, if you follow a hyperlink from ChannelCrowd.com to another site (e.g., an advertiser or merchant), information you provide is subject to that site's privacy policy rather than our privacy policy.

Partnering with Other Organizations to Offer Combined Services:
ChannelCrowd partners with other online services to give you the combined results of both services. For example we are an associate member with amazon.com to let you use their services to find the latest books on Marketing Channels / Management. Whenever we offer such combined services it will be your choice to make use of the combined services or not. In these cases, your personally identifiable information will only be passed from ChannelCrowd to the partner if you choose to use the combined service.

Communications Between Members:
Any correspondence for example via email or telephone amongst the members will be undertaken at their own risk.

Legal Disclaimer:
It is possible that we may need to disclose personal information when required by law. We will disclose such information wherein we have a good-faith belief that it is necessary to comply with a court order, ongoing judicial proceeding, or other legal process served on our company or to exercise our legal rights or defend against legal claims.

ChannelCrowd has a global membership and as such, your Personal Information may be viewed in countries which may not have the same level of legal protection for Personal Information as exists in the United Kingdom.



Accessing and Changing Your Account Information

You can review the personal information you provided us and make any desired changes to the information, or to the settings for your ChannelCrowd account, at any time by logging in to your account on the ChannelCrowd website and editing the information on your Profile page. You can also close your account by sending an email to (info@channelcrowd.com). If you close your ChannelCrowd account, we will remove your name and other personally identifiable information from our publicly viewable data (ie from your business card.) We may retain certain data contributed by you if it may be necessary to prevent fraud or future abuse, or for legitimate business purposes, such as analysis of aggregated, non-personally-identifiable data, account recovery, or if required by law. All retained data will continue to be subject to the terms of the ChannelCrowd Privacy Policy that you have previously agree to. To request that we close your account and remove your information from the ChannelCrowd service, please send your request to (info@channelcrowd.com). Please send your request using an email account that you have registered with ChannelCrowd under your name. You will receive a response to requests sent to (info@channelcrowd.com). within three business days of our receiving it.



Security

In order to secure your personal information, access to your data on ChannelCrowd is password-protected, and sensitive data (such as credit card information) is protected by SSL encryption when it is exchanged between your web browser and our web site. To protect any data you store on our servers we also regularly audit our system for possible vulnerabilities and attacks and we use a tier-one secured-access data center.



Changes to this Privacy Policy

ChannelCrowd may update this privacy policy. In the event there are significant changes in the way we treat your personally identifiable information, we will display a notice on this site.
